Professor of School Education
At its heart, school pedagogy is the art, science, and profession of teaching. This includes studying the interaction between teachers, students, learning tasks and the learning environment. There is a heavy focus on how knowledge and skills are taught in an educational setting based on student needs, while considering the social, cultural, and political contexts of where learning is taking place.
School pedagogy at KIT focuses on school and classroom development as well as teacher development from national and international perspectives. We do not only conduct research and teach in the university setting, but we also create and impart knowledge for schools in Baden-Württemberg and society at large.
The study of Education at KIT is a comprehensive part of our teacher training in the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.
